A little about your instructor
About Me
I'm David, the owner and lead instructor at Brigade Safety Training. I'm a Charlotte native, and my wife and I are raising our son right here in the Queen City.
I'm certified as an instructor through the National Safety Council, the American Heart Association and the Emergency Care & Safety Institute. I teach CPR, AED and First Aid, along with a variety of OSHA and workplace safety classes. I come to your location, so your team can skip the commute and stay in their comfort zone.
I grew up admiring my dad. He spent 35 years in the fire service and worked as an EMT. For about 50 years he also taught safety and lifesaving classes to anyone who needed them. I watched how much that mattered to the people he taught, and how much of himself he put into it. That stuck with me. The name Brigade is my small tribute to him and the work he did.
Teaching is my way of carrying that forward. I like people, I like helping them, and I want to put something good into the world. Helping a room full of people feel ready to act when someone needs them feels like the right way to do that.
Nobody learns well when they're stressed or bored, so my classes are hands-on, relaxed and a little light-hearted. I make sure the important points stick, so people leave confident instead of just certified.
If you're in the Charlotte area and want training that's practical, friendly and done right, I'd love to hear from you.
Have training in mind? I’d be glad to hear from you.
